PRESSURE REDUCING VALVES (PRV'S):
In April of 2025, the District had five (5) Pressure Reducing Valves installed within our water distribution system. The purpose of these valves is to reduce the high water pressures found at the north end of the system, which will lead to less stress on mains and services, and fewer leaks. Most homes in these high pressure-zone areas already have a personal PRV located on the service line after the meter, installed to protect fixtures and appliances in the home, so there should be little-to-no noticeable difference in overall system pressure.
You can direct any questions about this system upgrade and its benefits by calling the Office during normal operating hours at 803-892-5544.
The 2024 Water Quality Report (CCR) is now available on this website or if you prefer a printed copy, you may contact the GSRWD office to obtain a copy. A pdf copy is also available on this website under Reports.
June 2023: The District has been awarded Principal Forgiveness Funding through the South Carolina Infrastructure Investment Plan (SCIIP) in the amount of $9.6M and will be used for the following: to drill 2 new wells, install radium treatment at 3 wells, construct a 1 MG water storage tank and booster pump station on Pond Branch Road, construct a 16 inch water line from the new water tank to connect to the existing 16 inch water line on Juniper Springs Road, construct a 16 inch water main from the Town of Gilbert to our Peach Festival Road tank, construct a 12" water line on Marcellus Road, construct an 8 inch water line from a new well on Elzie Hallman Road to the new tank, and install 5 pressure reducing valves on the trunk water mains supplying the Lake Murray area.
The schedule for the completion of this work is very tight and all the work is proposed to be completed by the end of June 2026.
